REGISTRATION FOR SOCIAL SECURITY AND NATIONAL
INSURANCE TRUST (SSNIT)
The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is the statutory public pension fund in Ghana, which provides retirement, invalidity, and survivor benefits to employees in Ghana. Below are the steps to register with SSNIT in Ghana as a foreign investor:
Revenue Authority (GRA). Details in our section Register with GRA.

the required documents, including a copy of your passport, work permit, business registration certificate, and TIN.
Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive an SSNIT number, which you will need to provide to your employer so that they can deduct the appropriate amount from your salary and pay it to SSNIT.
- Obtain a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) from the Ghana
- Obtain a Business Operating Permit from the Registrar General's
- Obtain a work permit from the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).
- Register your business with the Registrar of Companies at the RGD.
- Register your business with the SSNIT office in Ghana by providing
- Pay the required contributions to SSNIT on a monthly basis.
